What To Expect

InsideOut is made up of two major parts: service projects and thematic programming.

PROGRAMS

First we pick a theme and we’re not just pulling something out of a hat here folks. For months we deliberate prayerfully and creatively with our production team made up of pastors, youth directors, worship leaders and genius media guys to bring a Christ inspired “theme”.  Every evening program, morning devotion, group refection time, and personal journal is inspired by this theme and a crucial part of the InsideOut mission experience.

Sunday – Opening Program is a high energy multi-media experience including engaging  worship with the InsideOut band, a crazy host guy pulling people out of the crowd to participate in some weird game, meet your InsideOut staff and then get serious about why we’re here. Our guest speaker will dig into the Word of God, inspire your group to be the hands and feet of Christ with an added hands-on call to action. After, you will gather into your group for a guided intimate time of reflection and discussion sure to engage and unify your group for the week ahead.

Monday-  This is our cookout night. We’ll have volleyball, soccer, ultimate frisbee and I think you get the picture. After we eat we will have some organized games (participation is mandatory or we’ll throw you in the lake) and individual team building activities for your group. Ending the night with more Word, some acoustic worship and your group reflection time.

Tuesday-Concert night is set up like Sunday, crowd participation games, funny video, InsideOut Band leads us in worship then we turn it over to the “band”(to be announced) to get our feet jumpin’, arms wavin’ and probably a little craziness. Now don’t be scared, our production team goes to great lengths to assure that the band is a group of sold out Christians and their music reflects that.

Wednesday- We wrap up our job site and now we’re ready to party. We call it InsideOut’s "Retro/Wrap-up/Pizza/Skate Party Shebang” and we do just that. After  everyone shows off their skills on the skate floor we bring it down for an intimate time of worship and open-mic sharing.  This is one of the most pivotal times here at InsideOut and our favorite night.  Through the various testimonies you can see and hear how these students are being transformed. How their eyes are open to what it means to serve God, to love others and have Christ-like compassion for all. Then we issue a challenge, in your group reflection time you come together to figure out how you will accomplish that challenge as a group.

Thursday- Closing program is a lot like Sunday’s opening program only now there’s this buzz in the air where pretty much everyone has this stirring in his or her heart to love God more and love people more. It makes for a great dynamic in our worship. We throw in some fun stuff and we can’t forget our video of the week that always gets the crowd going. After the message our guest speaker challenges everyone to take all of this home with them and serve their own neighborhoods, letting God’s love flow through you to meet needs in your own community. We end with a time for your individual group to reflect and seal in your hearts what God has done and make plans to bring His work home.

PROJECTS

Frequently asked questions:

Does our group stay together?

Yes, one of our goals is to bring groups closer together and stronger as a team and the best way to do that is on the job site. Your group will unify as they work side-by-side and take ownership of the task at hand, collaborating on how they will go above and beyond. We do our best to keep groups together, however an extra large group might be working on the same street or in the same community but not necessarily on the exact same project.

What projects will we do?

Projects may include:

Building wheelchair ramps and porches

Home repair

Tutoring and playing with underprivileged children.

Painting

Landscaping

Neighborhood revitalization

If your group has special needs, construction knowledge or experience, or just one thing on the list excites you let us know so we can try to make arrangements.

Who will we serve?

We partner with local organizations and ministries to reach the marginalized, the elderly and under-resourced communities who cannot help themselves or maybe those that just need a little encouragement and some light in their darkness. Our hope and prayer is that your youth group will have the opportunity to connect personally with the resident you’re serving or even some of the neighborhood kids that keep walking by.

At InsideOut we use the life of Jesus as a model and encourage groups to befriend people, look them in the eyes and genuinely care about their well-being. Time and time again we have the privilege to see a group come in, shine the light of Christ through their service, befriend people with their compassionate hearts and through all that God is mending the broken hearted, bringing hope to the forgotten, and shining light in the darkness.
